Our Homestay House

About Homestay

 Generally ESL students use Homestay but other people studying at university or college, people doing internships or working at short term jobs do as well. However most hosts do not accept very short term visitors. Hotels or Bed & Breakfasts are recommended for this type of visit. We only accept guests staying for a minimum of a one month term. Living with a family in there home, having your own private room and food prepared for you is very basically what Homestay is. Living with a Host family doesn't mean you will have a free maid service or that you will be catered to, you will still need to take care of yourself and act responsibly. By staying in a Homestay you get the benefits of becoming part of an English speaking family enabling you to practice and improve your English skills and/or get some understanding of Canadian culture and values. As with any family there are certain things expected from you. This is a part of your Homestay experience.   

Location of our Home

Vancouver Homestay House is approximately 30 minutes to UBC or 30 minutes Downtown by bus but we now have a new skytrain and it takes 10 minutes to get downtown. It is a 2 minute walk to the bus stop and one bus takes you to the centre of town where a large portion of our schools and colleges are located. Our Home is in a quiet neighbourhood with shopping and parks within a very short walking distance.
